gdm 2.20 and MATE
hello, maybe you would be interested by this: User:Srtxg#gdm_2.20
- Did you check MDM? It was a gdm-2.20 fork for MATE but disappeared last year. May be you can communinicate with its develeper and join efforts to make way in MATE. Currently, i'm trying to make MATE a way into Mageia 4. So, i prefer not interfere an application which is not in MATE DE. Except pluma-plugins, which i needed and packaged for me :) tarakbumba 17:17, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- actually I just used gdm-2.20 for its feature (lost in gdm >= 2.3) to explicitely assign greeter(s) to fixed ttys
- So I had my session on tty7, my wife's on tty12, etc.
- back then user switching didn't worked well, so I needed to stick with gdm 2.20
- when I wanted to upgrade to Mageia 3, I saw gdm-220 dissapeared, so I took the src.rpm from latest Mandriva, and rebuilt it
- and while I was at it, added some improvements.
- now I discovered that latest systemd, logind and gdm3 do user switching and sound/removable disks etc management right
- so my interest in gdm220 is less :)
