This page suffers of a problem with vocabulary. "Library" can designate different objects and thus the page is unclear.
The first object is a set of code which is intended to be used as complement of the code of an application, for example openfst, Gtk or Qt are libraries.
The second object is a file including the object code (thus it is a binary) which will be opened and used by a main application.
The third objet is a rpm package which contains one or more objects of the second type.
I think that the term "library" should be only used for the first object, and send and third objects should be designated with specific vocabulary, at least on this page.
