There is already encryption functionnality in disk partion manager. Please it first

Based on LVM ? What Dupo (from MLO) wanted is, I suppose something from the installer and simpler to use, an accessible tool. We should then have a better way to show how to use a crypted LVM setup (based on LUKS, anyway). An option called, for instance "Encrypt my setup", will use LUKS and LVM by default. The user will not have to know anything about partitioning, he will just have to click on a button in the installer. filorin 20:06, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Filorin was right, what is asked is an encryption tool for ext4 without LVM. lebarhon 16:16, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

[Colin] The current installer allows encryption of any partition, regardless of LVM. You can a) Encrypt individual partitions (regardless of type), b) Encrypt whole LVM VG partition (all LVs are thus encrypted under the same key) or c) Encrypt only a specific LV within an unencrypted or encrypted VG). I'm not really sure what extra features this feature is adding. These options might be hidden behind the Expert mode (I cannot recall off the top of my head) but I know I've installed, debugged and fixed installation problems relating to encryption that do not involve LVM
