3D effects in Gnome
3D effects are managed by Gnome.
To install the effects:
Gnome extensions
The two best ones, in my opinion, are: Desktop cube and Burn my windows.
Others can be found using search engines.
Once on the extension page, the easiest method is to click on “install.”
Enable 3D effects
Open “extensions” in applications. Enable the extensions.
KDE Plasma 3D Desktop Effect
In Mageia 9 and KDE Plasma 5.114.0
Go to System Settings (KDE, not the Mageia Control Center) Workspace Behavior Desktop Effects
and try out the different options and combinations. I really recommend gelatin windows. Once you get used to them, they're nice and smooth, and it's hard to do without them.
And for closing windows, I like: FIre [Burn-My-Windows], the classic effect inspired by Compiz** with an animation duration of 500 milliseconds.
