This tries to answer this question:
- how may Mageia/Mageia.Org <ref>project, distribution, tools, discussion places</ref> be used as a platform to publicize works from contributors or others?
It does not dictate what people should or should not say about their involvement in the project.
These are basic principles, only time will tell how to update them.
Contents
Sponsoring, donating
Anyone who donates to or sponsors Mageia.org project:
- becomes donating members article 6,
- has a thank-you note if she desires,
- is of course welcome to spread the word.
Contributing
Anyone who participates in the project can be recognized for it; this recognition can take place as ... well, just say it on your side.
Mageia.Org may set up a public directory of contributors, teams and achievements as a support (work in progress).
Commercial services
Anyone who provides commercial services around Mageia tools and technology may be referenced as such in dedicated places.
This is considered as a way of contributing to Mageia.
Being referenced as such a provider is controlled by the project Council. Vendors providing no service related to Mageia or Free/Open Source software or technologies are not expected to be part of this list.
Online services
We may use or depend or redirect to third party online services (search engine for instance). But that's all.
Advertising
No advertising.
All in all
Sponsoring, contributing and providing services does not entitle to a decisive role in the project <ref name="st-art-6" /> neither to more than what's stated above.
Any extension or update to the above is at the sole discretion of the project Council, on a case by case basis.
For instance, but not limited to it:
- some contributors or service providers may be listed during a specific event;
- some causes or specific events may be advertised/publicized by Mageia (as we did for ACTA in early 2012)
