For dumpning (''burning'' or ''writing'') a Mageia .iso image on a USB stick (''USB pen'' or ''flash drive''), you should check this page:

[[Installation_Media#Dump_Mageia_ISO_on_a_USB_flash_drive.3F|Dump_Mageia_ISO_on_a_USB_flash_drive?]]

If the tools mentioned in that page didn't work for you, you can try one of the following:

* '''mandriva-seed''', which you can download from [ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/MandrivaLinux/official/iso/2010.0/ here]. Note that mandriva-seed.sh does NOT work on a Mageia 3 system.

** From Linux, download mandriva-seed.sh, then launch it from terminal:
sh mandriva-seed.sh

** From Windows XP, download mandriva-seed-windows.zip, extract it and double click the mandriva-seed.exe executable to launch it.

  • For Linux: see Dump_Mageia_ISO_on_a_USB_flash_drive?
  • For Microsoft Windows:
    • Win32 Disk Imager, for recent versions of Windows. You will need to change to "all files" when you attempt to open the .iso since it only allows .img by default.
    • Rufus. You must use the "ISO Image" option.
    • WinImage works fine on systems with restrictions, such as Microsoft Windows 7 Starter. You can use it, for free, up to 40 times.
