Hi Marja. I blanked this page https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Template:Meertalige_banner-nl and created a new one https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Template:Multi_language_banner-nl

The intention from Cmoifp when he created the new sets of templates was to always have the same base name appended by the language short. See how it is in the following example. The base name "multi language banner" stays the same, but the language short gets appended to the template name:

.....

That means, when you create a new template, never translate the first part of the name. The base name is always english.

I made sure that all pages that used your "old" template got adjusted to use the "new" one. Regards

Thanks, I wasn't aware. I chose to translate it, because that I thought that would be easier if we were ever to get separate wiki's for the different languages. But I'll keep the base name in English from now on.

sturmvogel (talk) 17:29, 1 November 2023 (UTC) The seperated wikis will for sure not happen in the (near) future, as you know yourself that there is no manpower left...

As long as there is only one wiki, it makes the maintenance and editing easier when using Cmoifp's templates. As example if there would be a decision from Atelier team, that the new Mageia brand color should be pink. If this color should be represented as example in the language banner, you only need to search "Multi language banner" and get all different languages as search result. It is easy now to adjust all accordingly. If each template would be translated in its own language, nobody would be able to find them all (as you need to know how it is named in the language).

Cmoifp did a great job when he created all the new templates as it makes the maintenance of the wiki way easier. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_write_a_wiki_page#Templates

You're right :-)

Thanks again
