About SimonNZG

I'm a Senior Regulatory Consultant, ex Linux sysadmin. Work for the UK subsiduary of a German company that produces software, drones, radioregulatory advice and is a 5G service provider (Campus Systems).

Editing Experience

I write manuals and documentation in Word (properly, with styles), XML, Mediawiki and Sphinx (restructuredText) format.

Other Experience

I have experience of HTML: my first web site was a small company Intranet in about 1994 on an ancient HP1000 mini computer. I got used to writing documentation in HTML and didn't really do much Javascript or anything fancy, although I happily took up CSS as soon as it became available.

First Distro

First Linux: Slackware. On floppies. 1994/5. Then Red Hat, then Mandrake, then Mandriva. I use Mageia with KDE on my main home PC. Mainly an Ubuntu Server operator these days.

First anything? RSTS/E on a PDP11/70 back in the late 1970s. I had hair in those days!  :-)

Hobbies

Archaeological Geophysics and an occasional radio amateur, which is where the "nzg" comes into my ID. (Radio Amateurs are known by their first name and part of their callsign, so that becomes "Simon 'NZG").

Wishlist

Can I have new knees, please? These ones appear to have worn out.
