From Mageia wiki
On moving to Mageia 3 with my 32 bit notebook from OpenSuse, my Epson TX800FW all-in-one failed to scan. The device was recognised by USB but not by the control-centre/hardware/scanner/add operation.
This was fixed by downloading and installing the following files from the Seiko-Epson site
( http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/searchModule )
First, iscan-data-1.23.0-1.noarch.rpm
then, iscan-2.29.1-5.usb0.1.ltdl7.i386.rpm
This worked painlessly first time, without the need for first removing Sane or other packages. The process is not much different from that described in the parent wiki but it worked for me in this specific instance so I thought I'd share it.
