What is a SIG?
A SIG is a Special Interest Group within Mageia packagers. Each SIG aims at making Mageia a great distribution for a particular purpose.
It focuses packagers as groups of users, and not just individual packagers. The main goal is to share resources, efforts and knowledge as much as possible, and also to promote cooperative work towards a common goal.
In particular, we shall:
- Manage features within a SIG
- Use SIG tags in Bugzilla to better work as groups to reproduce, fix and follow-up on bugs
- Manage apprentices together in a SIG rather than just a single mentor
- Get a more precise idea about the distribution status (manpower, non-covered domains, features, outstanding issues)
- Report on current progress at the packager meeting with SIGs representatives
