Here is a list of commonly used abbreviation used in mailing list posts, IRC and, to a lesser extent, forums. Normally they are used capitalized. Abbreviations listed in lower case are more commonly used in IRC.
- AFAICS - as far as i can see

- AFAIK - as far as i know
- afk - away from keyboard
- asap - as soon as possible
- atm - at the moment
- bbl - I'll be back later
- brb - I'll be right back
- BTW - by the way
